The MikroTik GPEN11 is a wall-mountable power injector designed as a key component of MikroTik's GPEN (Gigabit Passive Ethernet Network) concept. In short: Power Injector: Its primary function is to deliver Power over Ethernet (PoE) to connected uplink devices. GPEN Concept: It's part of MikroTik's initiative to offer a more cost-effective and easier-to-deploy alternative to traditional GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) installations by leveraging standard Ethernet. Connectivity: It features two Gigabit Ethernet ports, with one typically providing Passive PoE output to power a device (like an outdoor wireless unit or another network switch). Flexible Powering: It supports a wide input voltage range (12-57V DC), allowing flexibility in power sources. Wall-Mountable: Designed for easy installation inside customer premises, often next to a Wi-Fi router. It even has a designated space for an ISP sticker.
